Jail Avoiding Wesley Snipes No More – Off To The Clink Says Judge

Delaying, avoiding, deflecting, ducking, working the system – whatever you want to call it, Wesley Snipes has run out of time and must start serving his jail term for tax evasion. A judge has ordered the actor to enter a federal prison in Pennsylvania by December 9th.

The actor was convicted in 2008 for failing to pay or report $38 million dollars in earnings. His lawyers appealed the decision and he remained free on bond. The Blade actor lost his last appeal but attorneys are mounting another legal maneuver. Snipes’ legal eagles asked a Florida judge to extend bail for the actor while he was appealing but his federal trial judge said, time’s up!

I would try putting it off as long as I could too. Then again, I report and pay all my taxes…

Wesley Snipes Loses & Goes To The Pokie

Wesley Snipes days of appealing his sentencing for tax evasion are over.  The federal judge handling the case ordered Snipes to surrender yesterday, and wisely, he did and is currently serving his 3 year sentence.

If he hadn’t been such a moron in the first place, he obviously wouldn’t be in this situation.  But the biggest thing I see is that if he skipped all that appealing crap, he’s have a chunk of his sentence over with already.  Oh well, I guess he will know better next time he wants to rip off Uncle Sam.

Appeal DENIED – Wesley Snipes Gets 3 Years In The Slammer

Well that might hamper his acting career a bit.  Wesley Snipes was denied his appeal, claiming that his 3 year prison sentence for tax evasion was “unreasonable.”  The courts essentially laughed at him and then gave him the 3 years in prison.

Snipes was found guilty of not filing tax returns from 1999 to 2001 back in 2008.  This meant he owed the government about $12k.  What a waste.  Why do this wealthy people try to cheat?  Why can’t they just do the righ tthing and save themselves the trouble and embarrassment?

Snipes will likely check into the big house soon.

Snipes is Back in ‘Brooklyn’s Finest’ Trailer

Brooklyn's Finest Poster

Here’s the first trailer for the upcoming film Brooklyn’s Finest.

This trailer certainly grabbed my attention. Richard Gere, Don Cheadle, Wesley Snipes, Ethan Hawke with director Antoine Fuqua? That’s a whole lot of talent invested in one movie. I’m very intrigued, and that’s rare for this type of movie.

James Brown’s Singing in His Biopic, Not Wesley Snipes

James Brown‘s upcoming biopic directed by Spike Lee and starring Wesley Snipes will not feature the voice of Snipes singing but actual recordings of the late great James Brown.

Were doing it together its going to happen, Lee told MTV News in an exclusive interview at the Sundance Film Festival this week. The Oscar nominated director of Do the Right Thing and Inside Man lavished praise on Snipes. Hes my man, Lee said; but when it comes to the vocals on Browns classic tracks like I Got You (I Feel Good) and Get Up Offa That Thing, expect to hear the authentic voice of James Brown being dubbed in.

I want to hear James Browns voice, the director said. Thats just my personal taste.

Makes sense to me, James Brown isn’t exactly a voice one could easily mimic, besides can Wesley Snipes even sing?
