Ray J Hospitalized After Billboard Awards & Squabble With Whitney Houston’s Family

Drama follows Whitney Houston‘s legacy and family.

Houston’s rumored ex-boyfriend Ray J was in Las Vegas on Sunday for the 2012 Billboard Music Awards and to watch the tribute to Whitney but things went awry shortly after.

Before the show even began, Houston’s sister-in-law and former manager, Pat Houston had uniformed security try to remove Ray J, who was seated behind the family.

Pat was informed that Ray J would not comply but they could forcibly remove him, causing lots of unwanted attention. Pat decided to allow Ray J to stay and avoid the possible ruckus. He was able to witness the Jordin Sparks/John Legend musical number and Bobbi Kristina‘s emotional speech while accepting the Millenium Award for her late mother.

He hosted a launch party at Rio Hotel & Casino for Prince Reigns (a hair-care product he is endorsing) after he left the Billboard Awards and went to his hotel room at the end of the evening.

It was shortly after the ceremony that Ray J’s pals noticed something was wrong with the singer.

Early Monday morning a friend realized he wasn’t coherent and was extremely disoriented. Ray J was taken to a Las Vegas area hospital where he is currently resting and recuperating.

Ray J’s rep says the singer is just overwrought from his very hectic travel and business schedule. He is being treated for “exhaustion and jet lag” and will remain in the care of medical professionals at the hospital.

Turns out, Brandy Norwood‘s little brother was in China just before the Awards and when he landed in the U.S., he drove 4 hours to get to Las Vegas and the Houston tribute and squabble, which all took it’s toll on Ray J.

Whitney Houston In Her Last Film Role – ‘Sparkle’ Trailer Released

 Whitney Houston and Jordin Sparks

The trailer for the film Sparkle was released on Monday, giving fans a glimpse of the late Whitney Houston in her final movie role.

Sparkle, a remake of the 1976 film of the same name, tells the story of three sisters trying to make it big as a girl group in 1960s Detroit.  The story was inspired by that of The Supremes, who came out of Detroit during the Motown era.   It stars American Idol champ Jordin Sparks as the title character.  Houston played the sisters’ struggling single mother, who had herself been a singer when she was younger.  The cast also features Cee Lo Green and Mike Epps.

Houston died on February 11 after accidentally drowning in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.  Her other film credits include The Bodyguard, The Preacher’s Wife and Waiting to Exhale.

Read on to see the full trailer for Sparkle, out in theaters on August 17.

Whitney Houston Died Of Accidental Drowning, “Complicated By Chronic Drug Use”

The Los Angeles County Coroner has concluded its investigation into the cause of Whitney Houston‘s death on February 11.

The singer, who was found in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, died of “accidental drowning,” said Chief Coroner Investigator Craig Harvey.   There were also multiple substances present in Houston’s system, including cocaine, marijuana, Benadryl, Xanax and others.  He explained:

“There was water found in her lungs that indicated to us that she was alive when she was submerged underwater.  According to our tests, the level of cocaine was not necessarily a lethal level of cocaine. But her death was complicated by chronic cocaine use and heart disease.”

This information led the coroner’s office to two theories about how Houston’s death occurred.

“She could’ve passed out first due to the intoxication from the cocaine, or she could’ve had a heart attack and then drowned.”

Cocaine, which constricts arteries, is well-known to cause cardiac problems.  The risk is much higher for users who, like Houston, already have heart disease.

Bobbi Kristina’s Oprah Interview: Still Hears Mom, Whitney Houston’s Voice

In an emotional interview with Oprah Winfrey, the late Whitney Houston‘s only daughter, Bobbi Kristina reveals she takes comfort in still being able to hear her mom’s voice.

The 19 year-old sat down with Winfrey and said after her mother’s death on February 11th, she couldn’t bring herself to return to Houston’s home in Atlanta but Whitney’s spirit was able to change her mind.

“I woke up and I heard her say, ‘All right, come home now.’ And when I came back home, I felt humble, I felt okay,” she said on Oprah’s Next Chapter.

“I can hear her voice in spirit talking to me, ‘Keep talking to me. I got you.’ She’s always with me. I can always feel her. I can always feel her with me,” Brown continued. “She always asked me, ‘Do you need me?’ And I caught myself, out of nowhere, I didn’t even know I said it, I said, ‘I’ll always need you.’”

Bobbi Kristina also shared she wants to carry on Whitney’s entertainment legacy with her own career in music and acting.

“I have to carry on the legacy. We’re gonna do the singing thing. Some acting, some dancing. It’s a lot of pressure, but she prepared me for it.”

Brown, who said she was “doing as good as I possibly can,” credited God and her family for helping her through the emotionally draining time.

Whitney Houston Wills Entire Fortune To Daughter Bobbi Kristina

Details of the late Whitney Houston‘s last will and testament are coming to light as the document was filed Wednesday in Atlanta.

Houston’s 19 year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina, is the sole inheritor of the singer’s assets. The will doesn’t list items individually but gives Bobbi all of her mother’s furnishings, clothing, jewelry, personal effects and cars.

Houston’s money is also going to Bobbi Kristina. The “I Will Always Love You” singer’s fortune is going into a trust with Bobbi able to access part of it at age 21 and a little more at 25. When she turns 30, she will inherit the entire amount.

Houston’s mother, Cissy Houston, is the executor and her brother Michael and sister-in-law Donna are trustees.

Whitney’s will was originally written in 1993 and then amended in 2000.

TMZ reports a judge has approved the document and Houston’s fortune is estimated at $20 million.

“Nothing Suspicious” In Whitney Houston Death, Says Source

The cause of Whitney Houston‘s death last month is still under investigation, but insiders are certain that it was entirely accidental.

A source close to the singer’s family said:

”She had no marks on her body whatsoever to indicate a struggle, and she was the furthest thing from trying to kill herself.”

An official ruling of the cause of Houston’s death cannot be made until the results of toxicology tests come back.

Target Pulling Insensitive Whitney Houston Card From Store Shelves

Target stores have found themselves in a spot of hot water over a greeting card the retailer had on it’s shelves referencing the late Whitney Houston.

The card was sold at the stores prior to Houston’s death and mocked her relationship with ex-husband Bobby Brown.

The card’s text read “Next time you think of dating the bad boy, consider Whitney Houston.”

Target began removing the card when the offending greeting was brought to light.

“It is never our intent to offend guests with the products we offer, and we take feedback from guests very seriously,” the company said in a statement to The Associated Press.

Singer Whitney Houston Is Dead At Age 48

Award winning singer Whitney Houston has been found dead in a Los Angeles area hotel on Saturday at the age 48.

The singer was at the Beverly Hilton for a pre-Grammy party when she was discovered by members of her entourage in her hotel room on the fourth floor earlier this afternoon.

A call was placed to 911 and emergency personnel arrived but they were unable to revive Houston.

“I can confirm that Whitney Houston was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m. at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. We received a call at 3:43 p.m. from hotel security and Beverly Hills fire and police responded minutes later,” said Beverly Hills Police Lieutenant Mark Rosen.

“Someone in her entourage found her unresponsive in her room … It’s unclear who notified hotel staff because she has quite an entourage here at the hotel. We attempted to resuscitate her, to no avail.”

The police are investigating the scene but have said there is no apparent foul play or cause of death at this time.

Whitney, who was at the swanky hotel for Clive Davis‘ annual Grammy festivities, has been known as much for her drug and alcohol problems as she has for her incredible voice.

Houston has won six Grammys, and 20 + Billboard and American Music Awards in her stellar career.

She first burst on to the pop scene in 1985 with her debut album Whitney Houston, which started her reign at the top of the charts with hit songs like “How Will I Know,” “Saving All My Love” and “The Greatest Love Of All.”

In 1992, Houston married New Edition singer Bobby Brown and they had a daughter, Bobbi Kristina. The couple’s tumultuous time as a tabloid staple began.

Brown and Houston’s fiery romance, erratic behavior and long-rumored drug abuse were headline making stories.

Houston infamously denied the substance use in a 2002 interview with Diane Sawyer where she uttered the phrase “crack is whack” and found herself mocked because of it.

The singer finally fessed up publicly to Oprah Winfrey in a lengthy interview where she spoke about her addiction, her attempts to get clean and her marriage. She told the talk show host Brown was abusive, including spitting on her and using her credit cards to have affairs with other women.

Houston was just seen out with her daughter on Thursday night at Tru Nightclub in Hollywood. She has reportedly been dating singer Ray J, the brother of singer Brandy Norwood.

Houston was the daughter of gospel singer Sissy Houston, the cousin of Dionne Warwick and Aretha Franklin was her godmother.

Whitney Houston Takes Another Crack At Rehab

Hahahah, get it?  Whitney Houston?  Crack?   Well, it appears that Whitney’s big  “I’m clean and sober” comeback in 2009 didn’t take too well.  Her rep, Jill Fritzo, confirmed today that the singer has entered a voluntary out-patient rehab program.  She said:

“We can confirm that Whitney Houston is currently in an out-patient rehab program for drug and alcohol treatment.  Whitney voluntarily entered the program to support her long-standing recovery process.”

In this out-patient program, Whitney will be able to do her normal day to day stuff but will be followed around by a sobriety coach.

I’m guessing Whit is doing this because she slipped up.  Her last stint in rehab was in 2004.   One day at a time, Whitney… one day at at time.
