The Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder looks incredibly sexy in this photo shoot for August Magazine. The actor who also starred in the first season of Lost (and will reprise his role as Boone Carlyle in the upcoming final season of the show) had this to say:

On his ideal role: “The one I’m doing right now, actually.”

On his transition from acting to modeling: “Fashion was a ton when I was young but, not being particularly as tall as one would need to be as a model (however I did fairly well) and not particularly seeing myself doing it for any length of time beyond it being a stepping stone into film and TV. The goal was: make money as a model and sink into acting training.”

On keeping his private life private: “It’s all very simple, actually. I’ve been left alone for the most part really. It doesn’t seem that what I do off the set is of importance to anyone!”

I absolutely enjoy him each week as Damon Salvatore on The Vampire Diaries and I can’t wait for his return to Lost. I always remember him though, from a guest episode he did on Law & Order: SVU where he was this completely creepy incestuous serial killer alongside Jason Ritter. He does like to play the bad boy and he does it so well.

Could it be that the whirlwind relationship between Bradley Cooper and Renee Zellweger has already come to an end? After a summer of romance word is that Cooper has decided to break things off with Zellweger.

Nicole Richie is venturing again into fashion territory. She already has a jewelry line, House of Harlow 1960, and a maternity line at Pea In A Pod that just premiered in August. Her expanding fashion empire now adds a new clothing line, Winter Kate. The 37 pieces will have the hippie chic look Richie has become famous for:

Tops, vests and bed jackets make up “Winter Kate,” which draws inspiration from Nicole’s own personal retro, bohemian fashion. But the mother of two also said that she drew inspiration from some of her favorite animals and birds, so expect a lot of funky colors. Additionally, the line will include easy to slip-in dresses, tunics and a kimono-sleeved, maxi dress.

The name for this line is inspired by her first born daughter, Harlow Winter Kate. She better start naming something after her second child soon or Sparrow James Midnight will be in therapy saying “Mom always did like Harlow best!” (Incidentally, I happen to love both the girls names.)

Her latest line will debut in stores in spring of 2010.

Haute couture fashion designers are increasingly collaborating for mass market retailers like H&M, Topshop and Target. Jean Paul Gaultier, known as the enfant terrible of high fashion, is teaming up with Target International for a spring 2010 line of clothing.

“Jean Paul Gaultier for Target pays tribute to the American woman, celebrating the forces of style both past and present in American pop culture,” the retailer said.
So we all know who that really means: Madonna, whom Gaultier has dressed onstage for ages. We’re hoping for pointy-bra tops, leotards, overalls, mesh crop tops, corsets — all the things chicks secretly want but can’t in good conscious pay more than Target prices for.

Look for his intriguing designs starting March 7th.

Glamour girls Gwen Stefani and Dita von Teese were fashion stars on October 22nd. The duo were part of the festivities for Fashion Group International’s 26th annual Night Of Stars at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City. Stefani wore a LBD (little black dress) with a rise and fall hemline and carried a clutch purse by L.A.M.B. She suprised everyone by not wearing her trademark red lipstick opting for a shade of beige instead. Von Teese went vintage with an elegant black gown. Her satellite headpiece was by designer Stephen Jones.

Is there anything less charming than a celebrity talking about how much they hate being famous? The latest celebrity to garner more attention by talking about hating attention is supermodel and tabloid magnet Kate Moss.

“It’s not me, it’s a character I’m made into. I have no idea why people are interested in me.

“I don’t like being famous. It encroaches on your life a lot.

“It makes me feel a bit uncomfortable talking about it, actually. But it’s something I’m learning to deal with.”

While it may be true that we don’t know the “real” Kate Moss, it’s not as if she hasn’t used the attention to her advantage. Without her name recognition her Top Shop clothing line would not be as popular as it has been, and she may not have been able to demand top dollar for modeling contracts.

I wonder what she would do if people did suddenly stop finding her interesting.  She’d be out of a job.

Entertainer Lady Gaga is by her father’s side as he is recovering from heart surgery. The “Paparazzi” singer took to her Twitter to let everyone know what was going on with her dad, Joseph, while he was in the hospital.

“My Daddy had open heart surgery today (October 23). And after long hours, and lots of tears, they healed his broken heart, and mine. Speechless.”She later updated her page to read, “At the hospital. Giving daddy a footrub while he falls asleep. He’s my hero.”

Lady Gaga has credited her father for getting her off of drugs. How great that she was able to be there for him when he needed her.

We wish Joseph a speedy recovery.

American fashion designer Cynthia Rowley is collaborating with clothing company Roxy for a 2010 summer line of surfer inspired style.

“Cynthia Rowley for Roxy,” the 40-piece spring 2010 collection will feature functional pieces such as wetsuits and swimwear, but also borrow from the surfer lifestyle with neoprene ballet flats and pencil skirts, knit hoodies — to keep warm while waiting for that perfect wave — and canvas duffel weekend bags for your beach getaway.

The beach & surf pieces will be exclusive to Barney’s in New York City and Collette in Paris. Get ‘em if you can.

Burberry, the iconic brand of trench coats and it’s namesake plaid, is ready to launch a new cosmetics line in time for summer. Burberry has had success with it’s fragrances and is ready to expand to beauty basics.

The make-up range will launch in July, have about 100 items to choose from and will support the company’s resurgence in popularity and recognition. While no specifics are yet offered on the products, it is almost certain that famous plaid will end up as part of the packaging.

The fashion house recently hired Emma Watson as it’s Fall/Winter ad campaign model and the trench never looked better.

Office Space star Ron Livingston is set to join The Office star Steve Carell in the upcoming comedy Dinner for Schmucks.

Ron Livingston has joined the table for the Jay Roach-helmed comedy “Dinner for Schmucks.”The film, which stars Steve Carell and Paul Rudd, is being co-financed by DreamWorks, Spyglass and Paramount.

Pic is an adaptation of the Francis Veber-helmed French film “Le dinner de cons,” in which a group of bourgeois friends regularly invite the biggest schmucks to dinner to ridicule them. Livingston’s recent credits include New Line’s “The Time Traveler’s Wife” and the indie “Holly.”

I’ve liked Ron Livingston since Office Space. The combination of these actors is bound to bring us a lot of laughs. I’m looking forward to seeing more on this one.

Paranormal Activity is doing great in the box office, so now a sequel is likely.

Can lightning strike twice?

Paramount Pictures is hoping so, as the studio is actively considering producing a sequel to “Paranormal Activity,” the out-of-the-blue horror flick that cost $15,000 to produce and has sold $62.5 million worth of tickets so far domestically.

“We have the rights on a worldwide basis to do ‘Paranormal 2′ and we’re looking to see if that makes some sense,” Paramount Chairman Brad Grey said in an interview today.

In an industry obsessed with building franchises, a second “Paranormal Activity” seems like a no-brainer. The studio acquired the movie for just $300,000 and has spent less than $10 million on marketing, relying primarily on word-of-mouth and Internet buzz. It is on track to gross more than $100 million domestically. That would make it, Grey said, the most profitable film for  Paramount since he took over in 2005 and, quite possibly, in the studio’s history.

I’d be willing to bet money that this sequel will get made. I’d also be willing to bet it won’t be any good. It’ll probably cost ten to twenty times what the first one cost (not hard since it was made for $13,000) and be so overdone it won’t even been scary. Remember Blair Witch 2? Didn’t think so.

Woody Allen’s newest film finally has a title, You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger. The film stars Antonio Banderas, Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins, Naomi Watts, Gemma Jones, Lucy Punch, and Freida Pinto.

So today, months after the shoot has ended, it’s news that Woody Allen’s newest movie has a title. You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger, which sounds either like a prophecy or a threat, will be coming out in about a year.

It’s strange how long it takes for him to decide on a title to his films. I have no clue what this movie is about, but the cast is enough for my interest to be peaked.
